UNICEF recognizes that behaviour and social change communication (SBCC) is one of the most important programmatic components in the achievement of outcomes for children and adolescents, as the attainment of these outcomes relies strongly on changes in the norms, attitudes and behaviour of individuals, families, communities, civil society and decision makers, through increased participation and empowerment. Communication for Development (C4D) is defined as an “evidence-based and participatory process that facilitates the engagement of children, families, communities, the public and decision makers for positive social and behavioural change in both development and humanitarian contexts through a mix of available communication platforms and tools”. C4D approaches integrated in key interventions across Health, Nutrition, WASH, Education, Child Protection and Adolescents programming towards country programme results using evidence based social and behaviour change strategies.

The individual contractor will work under the direct supervision of the C4D Specialist, Unit Head. The individual contractor will be expected to give weekly updates and monthly progress reports.
The individual contractor will be paid on a monthly basis based on the submission of a brief (2 page) monthly activity report as well as the completion of deliverables for the period under review and based on certification of satisfactory performance by supervisor as per the agreed workplan
The contract is for a duration of 11.5 months
