Heavy Duty Mechanic

o Maintain and service all operational vehicles

o Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity

o Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately

o Test drive vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical Soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist

o Have a daily check of coolant systems for vehicles in run of 8000km and 12000km

o Repair and replace vehicle parts using mechanic hand tools

o Adjust and replace all relevant parts of vehicle parts when necessary

o Raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks or hoists to gain access to mechanical units bolted to undersized of vehicles.

o Tidy up all tools used and the workshop after each day’s activities

o Check the master king pin of all operational vehicles every three months

o Attend to break down vehicles immediately

o Keep logs on work and issues

o File appropriate documentation on each repair

o Be in your PPE at all times when working.

o Any other job that may be assigned from time to time
