Description

As ignitia’s Finance and Admin Officer, you will work closely with the Ignitia’s Finance Director to ensure finance processes and book-keeping run smoothly and efficiently.

You have good experience in accounts and managing books for small and medium sized companies in Ghana. You are meticulous and passionate about high quality execution and have an eye for detail. You can juggle many projects and activities at the same time without missing deadlines or dropping standards. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy when a meticulous plan comes together.

From managing accounts and book-keeping for Ghana and Nigeria to financial reporting, the role requires you to be flexible and quick to respond,

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Manage book-keeping (accounts, invoicing, taxes, bills, petty cash etc) for Ghana and Nigeria
  • Customer Invoice booking and recording payments from clients.
  • Supplier invoice booking and recording payments to suppliers.
  • Recording debit/credit card transactions and reconciling credit/debit card accounts.
  • Maintaining all ledger accounts and ensure financial reports are consistent with IASs and IFRSs.
  • Complete analysis of cash receipts and cash payments for the period.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of all bank accounts.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of accounts receivable and control accounts.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of accounts payable and control accounts.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly management accounts for decision making.
  • Keeping account books and systems up to date.
  • Prepare monthly Withholding Tax Schedules and filings.
  • Prepare monthly VAT Returns and filings.
  • Prepare monthly NHIL/GetFund/COVID Relief Returns and filings.
  • Correspond directly with auditors and bankers on behalf of your entity where necessary.
  • Ensure that entity’s financial records are in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Financial reporting and monitoring

Requirements

WHAT WILL IT TAKE

    • You have a Bachelor Degree in Finance/ Economics or similar.
    • You have at least 5 years of experience in finance and accounting
    • You have experience updating ledgers, budgets, etc. Preparing financial reports. Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
    • Excellent computer skills and tech savvy. Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets. Exposure to formulas and functions a plus.
    • You are skilled at delivering in matrixed, international teams
    • You have great communication and social skills and are able to work in English (written & verbal)
