Main purpose of job:

To provide reliable and courteous transportation service to customers with safety as top priority; to provide a communication link between customers and staff; to operate and maintain assigned vehicle(s); and to maintain vehicle and customer records.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
  • Maintain defensive driving
  • Provide a communication link between customers and staff,
  • Assist all passengers in and out of the vehicle; operate ramps, lifts and secure devices as needed
  • Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service for customers, and read and interpret road signs in English;
  • Present safety briefing to passengers prior to each trip departure;
  • Keep the assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and outside;
  • Check water, gas, oil and mechanical condition before leaving on run.
  • Report delays and accidents.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, customer transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management;
  • Report defects or problems with vehicle to supervisor.
  • Perform minor vehicle repairs;
  • Interpret policies and procedures, maps, and route directions; and ability to administer First Aid,
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on assigned vehicle(s) as required;
  • Fuel the assigned vehicle(s);
  • Coordinate the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions;
  • Respond immediately to accident or medical emergencies by notifying emergency response providers, and rendering First Aid until emergency personnel arrive
  • Register vehicles at the DVLA for both official and private UK Based Staff.
  • Perform minor protocol duties at the Airport.

 

Other Duties:

  • Paid Work after hours and be called on when there is an emergency to attend to
  • Perform such other duties as may be required.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

  • A valid driving licence class D – F

Working patterns:

 Monday to Friday 07:00 to 17:00, 35 hours per week
